  • What coarses should I take for Year 11 (AUS) if I want to become a doctor?

  • Answer:

See your careers adviser! A booklet arrives in NSW schools in the next month that outlines the perquisites, assumed knowledge and recommended studies for all courses in all NSW universities. Each state produces a similar publication. Get a squiz of that and it will help/ Just a word of warning, most uni's only do medicine as a second degree. Go look for the degree you wish to do as your first.

If you mean subjects then for medicine there aren't any prerequisites. Just do subjects you're good at that will increase your chance of getting a good enough ter to get in. Science and maths subjects are recommended though.

Find out what the requirements are for your major in the universities you plan to apply to. It's really simple actually...

lala

Biology, other science related subjects & maths.

selmo723

really depends on what your school offers, anatomy, biology, some advanced math courses,

Basically maths science - usually two maths and either biology/physics or biology/chemistry and English - the most important thing is that you need to be able to get near perfect scores for them. P.E. can break up the academic struggle but still provide assistance with anatomy and biomechanics but you would probably have to drop it in year 12

Definately writing courses, public speaking, CPR if offered Health/Physical Education. Try even setting up internship later prior to graduation with a local hospital or medical facility.

I think you need biology and maths B. But as your student adviser. Remember though if you don't get all the subjects you need you can always do filler classes before uni starts.

Black Cat

there are a lot of different kinds of doctors out there so be a little bit specific but you would need chemistry, biology maybe physics, english maths
