Is it bad to go to a private school?

My dad is FORCING me to go to private school?

  • PLease help me, I really don't want to go to private school at all!!! I WANT to go to Skyline High School (public school) and my parents are FORCING me to go to Eastside Catholic High School (private school). Can you please give me some really good reasons on why I should go to Skyline High School so that I can debate over this with my dad!!! If you look at this site, you can see Skyline High School is ranked #6 http://washington.compareschoolrankings.org/high/SchoolsByRankLocationName.aspx My dad says that at Eastside Catholic they have better teachers, a better learning environment, and they provide AP classes which may help may save a year of college I want to go to Skyline High School because, I have a TON of friends there, (Skyline High School has IB classes), Me and my bff have been dreaming to go there, and in my opinion they have a good education system (I hated the boring teachers at Eastide Catholic High School), also the environment is so much more fun and calm at Skyline High School, where at Eastide Catholic High School everyone's strict and goody-goody PLEASE HELP ME REASON WITH MY DAD, (GIVE ME REALLY GOOD REASONS TO GO TO SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL) ALSO, PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN AP AND IB CLASSES, CAN I SAVE A YEAR OF COLLEGE IF I DO IB CLASSES?

  • Answer:

To answer your first question, you can argue that you would learn more at Skyline High School since the teachers make learning fun. Maybe you can also say that your social life is important also, and that you have lots of friends at Skyline High School. As for your second question, AP and IB classes are about the same thing. Here's a link to a yahoo question explaining the difference between IB and AP classes. Your parents are trying to give you the best education possible, and you don't seem like you're appreciating it at all.

Tell your dad that you are a selfish, spoiled brat who doesn't appreciate him spending his hard earned money to get you the best education he can afford. If you can make him see that you don't deserve this opportunity, maybe he'll let you out of it so you can go "have fun" and be the miserable failure you so desire. Good luck!
