What's the coolest science fair project for a 4th grader?

  • My 9-year-old son is looking for a project for the school's science fair. What's really interesting, fun, educational, life-changing, inspiring, or otherwise just the greatest science project ever?

    try something that deals with solar power. it'll show him that there's alternative fuel sources out there. maybe one day he'll become leader of the world by creating something great. hmm... when i was his age, all i did was cut a tree and reported that you can tell how old the tree was by counting the rings. now i'm a nobody.

do one on floating magnets ..... that got me sweepstakes all u need is dohnut magnets base board and a wooden dowel slide the magnets in the dowel first put them on the repelling sides watch slide one in get another one and see which side this magnet repells from the other magnet and slide it on the reppeling sides and do this with the rest of the other magnets hope this helps

Okay, this is cool. Take a lot of little cups and fill them with an ounce each of Sprite, Club Soda, or anything mildly flavored and clear. Dye them (with food coloring) red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and leave one undyed. Have people taste each and say what flavor it has. These are my cousin's results of what . Red- cherry or strawberry. Orange- orange. Yellow- lemon. Green- lime. Blue- blueberry, berry, blue raspberry. Purple- grape. Undyed- water/lemon-lime of course, silly!

Well, there is the whole volanco one or I did one on Diabetes type 1. Cause I have it and decided to do a project on it Yes I did this in forth grade. Or which is faster in falling, a water melon or an egg. Sorry if this doesnt help, hope he does good!
