Answer:
The exact requirements are different at each school district, but usually you have to take PE each year in middle school and at least two years in high school. Trust me, EVERYONE will be freaked out about changing in front of each other. They will be more worried about themselves than what you look like! Usually in locker rooms there are not stalls, just rows of lockers with benches in between them. PE teachers nowadays very rarely require any students to take showers, so I wouldn't worry about that at all. If you are really worried about people seeing you in your bra and underwear, you will soon find ways of changing quickly. For example I would take my arms out of my shirt but still leave it on my neck/covering my chest, and then stick my arms into the new shirt and quickly pull it over my head while pulling the other one off. It seems silly to me now that I was so self-conscious back then, because really, nobody cared! It's not like they were staring at my chest or something, they were just worrying about getting their own clothes on. Only boys would care, and they are obviously in a different room. So don't be nervous - just remember that everyone else is just as self-conscious as you are.

Yes and yes. Everyone is at first, and then you get used to it. And my teachers did not allow changing in the stalls. And think about it, if everyone's changing regularly except for you, I think you'd be more likely to be picked out, instead of for your self conscious issues.

Yes you must do P.E some schools are different about the whole changing thing, the school im going to they make you wear the sports uniform all day so you dont need to change, but i live in Australia so they might be different for where you are! Good Luck in year 8! :)

Where I went to school you had to change. But they had a boys and a girls locker room. You do have to change in front of other guys but if you make friends you can just change by friends instead of strangers and is less akward. And you can probably use a stall but people will think you are weird so I wouldn't. Side note rumors about showers are most likely false if they say you have to shower.

Yes, you do have to take PE, and you do have to change infront of other girls (im assuming your a girl?). But at my school its just one big open room, but nobody cares. Its not like your the only one changing! Also a few girls in my PE class change in the showers because nobody uses the showers in PE at my school. Also in my PE lockerroom their is another area outside the actual part where you change and it is basically like a bathroom and you could change in the stalls their if you want to :) Good luck you will do great!

Yea hun you have to take gym. Once you enter high school, you need to take 4 years of physical education to graduate high school. In public schools, you get changed in a locker room with all the girls that you share that period of gym with. As of stalls, I know my school has one stall to change in. But i went to a very tiny school of less than 600 kids grades 7-12. I am almost positive all schools will have some sort of changing stall or bathroom stall to get changed in. The transformation from private to public schools might be a tiny bit difficult but you will quickly get used to it and have a lot of fun. You may soon get so comfortable that you won't feel like you have to change behind a stall because everybody minds their own business when changing. You will see, good luck =)

eighth grade was my first year in public school too. yayy! i had to take pe because it was a part of my magnet program. if you're concious, then try and get to class super early and change before the other girls arrive. also try wearing a tank under your clothes so they won't see much. my pe teacher was terrible. she didn't let us change in stalls. it was terrible. i remember a few girls did it anyways, but ehh. public school is sooooo diff from private school. i started off in a magnet program, so it made a nice easy transition. but let me tell you. if you've been sheltered your whole life, you're in for a big surprise. good luck girl!

Yes, PE is a requirement until you go to college You can change in stalls, or go to the bathroom to change there, then come back out

This depends on the school. Most schools make you take PE. You have to change in the locker room but if you're that uncomfortable you can use a stall or ask the teacher if you can use their office. I hope this helps.
