Year 10 examination-do they add up to your final grade?

• I'm in year 10 now and in in the summer im going to do my GCSE's exams... For all of them except Spanish (I am in top set) I am going to do foundation tier because the teachers said that we all need to do foundation tier first, get a C in that and then we can do the higher tier next year... The thing is that I am a smart person and I learn at home aswell and always put effort into my work... In my classes I get the highest results for example in mathematics noone got a C but I did... I was just wondering if the foundation exams I do this year will count towards my final grade in my GCSE's or if it'll just be the ones next year... Thanks everyone xx

  your probably doing mock exams at the moment. But even if your doing a foundation the highest you can get is a C which is still a pass, so next year the teacher may allow you to do a resit of the higher paper to boost your grade up. Im in year 11 now and last year i done some exams they were in science, english, health and RE, but these subjects have a number of different papers that make your overall grade. Dont worry, if your teacher thinks you can do it, they wil put you in for the higher paper. keep working hard, and good luck, also ask your teacher if your still unsure :)
