What are some High School level Science Research Project Ideas? (URGENT)?

  • I need a science research idea that I can make a hypothesis on, do an experiment that takes little over a month to 2 months, and i can write a research paper on it. It would be good if it is high school level preferably 9th grade. No Science Fair project ideas. Has to have something to do with science, like environmental science, etc. You can make a list of project ideas, your top idea first. URGENT-I need answer ASAP / Best idea/ideas i can use gets 10 points

    okay well an experiment that can be done over a long period of time like a few weeks would be rusting ... you could cover the aspect of self sacrificing substance eg zinc wear away and stop the nail from rusting . you could set up 4 different nails in salt water and plain water . nails with magnesium wrapped around it some just by them selves you could even put a cork in one of the test tubes and see how lack of oxygen effects the rusting process .. this is very simple experiment .... easy but could be made Technical

An expierement that lasts over a long period of time is testing the effects of detergants on plants <- i know what your thinking what is the meaning of that? But some detergents claim to be plant-based, Or not harmful to the environment when some are just as bad or worse then ones to the contrary. you could use different plants and detergents ones that are plant-based and ones that arnt. plan time intervals when the plants must be checked to the reaction and the seriousness of the reaction. after several planned checks get the students to write up the results and conclusion of the expierement with their own hypothesis and all of that. and let them have fun with it let them name there plants make it a game by seperating them into teams and seeing who has guessed the result more correctley. :)
