How important is being in an Honors Program as an undergrad?

Which program is better, the Honors program or the AVID program'?

• I heard that AVID is just kids that need extra help to succeed. Honors is kids that are highly intelligent and don't need extra help. They are also self-motivated. I myself are in all honors classes. Which do you is superior?

  Most honors classes are very hard and they move very quickly, AVID teaches you how to be a better student and what to do to get into college. Student after student wants to drop the honor classes as fast as they get into the class. You have to be willing to take a risk with your GPA when you sign up for a honors class. There are students who have straight A's but a lower grade in the honors. The nice reason for taking honors classes is that you are challenged, and they teach how to handle harder classes and hopefully survive.
