Virtual Charter School?

Should I go to a charter school?

• I am a sophomore in high school; I go to a standard public school  (3-4a) in a rural area and I have a group of really close friends. I like the atmosphere at my school; it is very laid back, every body knows everybody and the parents went to school with each other and has a lot of vocational classes, like metal working and woodshop, which I like. It has a very high graduation rate but few people go on to college as they go straight to the military or to work at the family business. I am planning on going to college after high school and the charter school my parents want me to go to is oriented to students that want go to college after highschool. It is opening next fall and Idk if I would like it at this new school because I already have friends at my current school and this school seems to be more high pressure and it's in the city which is a totally different atmosphere. I would know no one that is there but I think most people would also know no one else because it's a new charter school. It is set up as a college schedule so I wouldn't necessarily have class every day which I like and if I would have started as a new freshman I will have gotten an associates degree by the time I graduate. But I am going in as a junior so idk.

  A school is more high pressure when it emphases college and success. That is good and not bad. Your parents want the best for you. Try the new school and if you do not like it you can return after giving it a fair chance./
