How do you become an FBI Technical Analysis?

What is the FBI BSU(Behavioral Science Unit)/BAU(Behavioral Analysis Unit) like?

• Is it the way they portray it on Criminal Minds? What's the difference between the two? What kind of degrees does one need to join the BSU/BAU? I know they only select people within the FBI. Do you have any pointers to help me get into the FBI academy and hopefully become an FBI agent. I'm only a freshman in high school, but I really want a career in criminal justice. I want a bachelors in something forensic, and a masters in some sort of psychology, either behavioral, forensic, or criminal. Then I want to apply to the FBI academy. I am already fluent in Arabic and English and am in my third year of Spanish and plan to continue with Spanish until i graduate. If I don't get in to the FBI I plan on working at a police department and either do something in forensics or a homicide detective. thanks =)

  I don't want to crush dreams but the FBI BSU is harder to get in to than the NBA, so not saying it is impossible but you are going to have to make sure your ducks are in a row! Also, ignore the criminal shows as a reference point for law enforcement. Being fluent in Arabic is GREAT!! However, Spanish will not help much just because so many people speak the ladder will give you a great advantage don't loose it. I have my master's in Forensic Psychology which is the study of the criminal mind as well as to work as a psychologist for the courts. The closest I could compare it to would be Dr. Wong from Law and Order on SVU BUT again he is not a great representation because he has like 10 jobs in one. To your original question to get to BSU you need to be an agent, study accounting, english or computers. Try for to become a cop or get military experience, or obtain a graduate degree. Once an agent you will have to work for several years in different offices to gain experince the experience they are looking for in the BSU and then after maybe 10+ years of experience if there is an opening and you have what they are looking for you may be placed in that section.
