I am starting to get jealous of someone who is smarter than me, how can I become smarter?

First of all - you will never be the smartest person in the world or maybe even your class. You are placing a hugh responsibility on your own shoulders and this will hold you back - The simplest answer is to read, read, read and STOP TRYING TO COMPETE WITH OTHERS - BE YOURSELF AND FORGET ALWAYS BEING THE BEST, and you will be - Easy isn't it? Take it from an old horse, you will create a ton of stress for yourself and take up valuable time and brain space by continually worrying about being the best - Simply Be!!!!

only stick to a task, do worry about information that you will not use, if its something about your work stick with that or may be its for interested what ever the reason may be that the motivational tool that is driving you to learn other wise you will not be be successful in something you don't care about.

go to the book store and start studying, or search wikipedia all day long. maybe you should address your jealousy issues rather then worrying about your intelligence level. i bet if you were more confident it wouldn't matter if he was smarter.

Read books everyday

Check it out, I started reading a book called "Mega Memory" by Kevin Trudeau, he gives A LOT of really good memory tricks, which actually help remember things, its actually pretty amazing. Anyway, check the book out, it has some exercises that if you do and stick with you WILL get smarter, I already started remembering things better since I've used his techniques... things from peoples names, to addresses, to phone numbers... which means you can totally use it to get smarter in school.

Get a tutor if your that worried, you shouldn't worry about things like girlfriends and such because there is a lot out there and sadly they don't always stay forever, You shouldn't be jealous anyway, and if he annoys you that much, go laugh about it with a friend, gets me through life.

You shouldn't feel jealous at all. Both of you are different. Just focus on your favorite subjects and concentrate. You don't need to compete with him. All you have to do is to challenge yourself that you can make it. Good Luck to you!

To be honest, the only tips is you must be hard-working to good at all of those subjects. And believe yourself. ;) I want to learn Italian too :d.

Read, read, read. But it seems you admire his popularity and girlfriend more than his smarts. People admire people who are amusing and funny and above all confident. It is really people who feel good in their skin and who like themselves and are fun to be with that attract people. So - have fun and laugh a lot. Be yourself and you may be suprised.
