Options for higher studies abroad.

Maths Stats, ICT or Media Studies? GCSE options, help!?

  • Dues to the way my school set out the options sheet, I had to choose between either Maths Stats, Spanish, ICT, or Media Studies. Now, I origionally choose spanish, however yesterday a teacher came to see me and told me that not enough people have chosen spanish, therefore I must choose out of the other 3. My other options I am doing are Triple Science, English Language & Literature, Geography, Buisness Studies, RS (Applied Ethics), Maths, German, and OCR Level 1 Certificate in ICT. First of all, which one out of the three is the most respected qualification to have? I would work hard at which ever one I chose, and I get generally high results in most subjects as I work hard at them too. I am unsure of what career I would like to have when I am older, I just know that it will most likely be academic based. ICT is a level 2 certificate, and maths stats and media are gcse's. Please help.

  • Answer:

Maths is way more respected than ICT, and Media Studies is not a lesson (Its where the idiots go to waste 2 years of their life and pretend that they're learning) You don't need a GCSE in ICT to get a job in IT, mainly because GCSE ICT is things like using word and paint packages. Media studies will get you no jobs, if you want to work in the media, get a degree in a facilitating subject like History. Maths proves competency and proves that your willing to work hard. Take maths.
