Does anyone know about the medical schools in the Caribbean?

Does anyone know anything about PRIVATE SCHOOLS?

  • Hello :) I'm in a pulic school at the moment. And i really wanna know what its like in private schools? I live in Australia. I really wanna learn more. I get distracted really easily and i can't learn anything in public schools cus the teachers aren't hard on the students ( rebels ) I really dont mind the cost in private schools, i just really need to learn more :-) Can anyone please tell me ... Is it easy to make friends in private schools? Do you get more homework in private schools? Do we do alot of sport in private schools? ( i hate sport btw ) What are the teachers like? Are they more strict? Are there alot of trouble makers? Are the people in private schools studios? And thanks :)

hey :) Im from Perth and went to a private school my whole life. I graduated in 2006 and am now at university so hopefully i can help. it is just the same making friends in a private school as it is in public school so you wouldnt have any problems adjusting. You dont get more homework but the teachers definitely check up on what you have done every day and you do recieve some form of "punishment". At my school we got stamps or detentions. (If you got a certain amount of stamps per week they called a meeting with your family) There is definitely more opportunity for a varied range of sports because it isnt funded by the government. We did fun things like surfing, golf, fencing, sailing, rock-climbing etc in addition to typical things like soccer and basketball... but once your in year 10 sport becomes optional and you only do sport if u want to. (You pick all your subjects) The teachers are more strict but they are really caring and nice aswell. They just want the best for you. At my school there were one or two troublemakers but they just did it for attention they didnt actualli do anything. This will be quite a difference to public school in my opinion as i find provate schools to be more focussed as you are not allowed to distract others or you get in major trouble. IYes and no.. it depends on your personality. But in all reality if you dont do your homework you WILL fall behind and get into trouble and have a lot of stress in catching up as the teachers dont wait for you. The bonus is we have a higher chance of getting into university. (In australia, 80% of private school kids are accepted, compared to lesser rates from public schools) Hope i helped. Going to a private school was an awesome experience! I highly recommend it. It really does mould you for the real world. :)

I just finished my private school education in Sydney. The people aren't any different, so making friends is about the same. People are just a little bit richer, and so you get a few snobs, but thats about it. Sport is about the same. We had PE for an hour a week in year 7 and 8, and sport once a week for two hours in years 7 to 10. The teachers are the same concerning how good they are, and I wouldn't say they gave either more or less homework than other teachers. I would think they are probably a little bit more likely to go out of their way to give you some extra help if you need it. Because of the higher socio-economic class of the people that attend, I would think there are less troublemakers. They're less likely to have a rough upbringing, more likely to be a wee bit spoiled. The main difference I found was that all the staff are very preoccupied with making the school LOOK good, as oposed to making it actually good. I would recommend a smaller school, if you find you get easily distracted. I don't think private or public is the decider.

I know everything about private schools (I was in private school from K-12). Of course, I went to an all-girls high school in the US, but I'm sure the answers are similar. It doesn't really depend on whether or not a school is private or public if you'll make friends or not. You get a good amount of homework. It can be a challenge sometimes but it's a good challenge. Sports are optional. But, you may be required to take a PE class or two. The teachers are probably a bit more strict because the rules, in general, are more strict in a private school. The trouble makers and studious students vary, I'm sure you'll get a handful of those wherever you go. Hope that helped.

in private schools the teachers are alot stricter!!!!! and MOST people are more bitchy and think there rich. it is easy to make friends u get HEAPS more hw and assignments! yes u do heaps of sport, however in most private schools sports is not compulsory. theachers are WAY more stricter yes there are some trouble makers, however the punishment is more tense .....? hope i helped!

i live in south australia, and i go to a private school.. so i know all about it :P now to your questions... is it easy to make friends in private schools? yes, really easy.. you can talk to anyone you want everyones really nice. my friend has moced from a public school to private and says its much better here, as in her old school everyone would leave whenever they want and she never learnt anything from her time spent there... Do you get more homework in private schools?im not sure. but i hardly ever have homework, just the occasional assignment. Do we do alot of sport in private schools? ( i hate sport btw ) well at my school on tuesdays and thursdays we have a bit of sport in the mornings, and it is compolsulary to do sport for 1 semester until year 11. What are the teachers like? Are they more strict? the teachers are really friendly. in all my classes my teachers just talk to me normally like we are both equal. i think they would probbably be a bit more strict to a public school - but not overboard. Are there alot of trouble makers? there are a few. but normally people will muck up and knuckle down when needed. no one at our school wags anymore because whenever someone leaves they always get caught, Are the people in private schools studios? i dont get it?? living in a private school is pretty layed back, i have fun and just chill alot of the time, but if its important i will do my work.

i went to an elite private school in Melbourne from prep through the year 12 and i loved it, it is easy to make friends as usually (depending on the size of the cohort) there are a diverse range of people. There can be a lot of homework, but it depends on the school, at my school they were very academically focused and thus pushed us to do well, i found this very helpful and the learning environment was great, everyone wanted to be the smartest as opposed to it not being cool to be smart, and thus we all pushed ourselves harder and did the best we could. The teachers were great at my school, but it will obviously differ from school to school, they were not stricter than any other teachers, in fact in year 12 we were told if we wagged class it was not their problem it was ours as we would miss out on valuable time in class. At my school the trouble makers were weeded out fairly early (yr 7/8) so no there are not many trouble makers, most private schools have a pretty tough policy on bullying and that sort of thing and dont take the crap students may give them. By studios do you mean studious? if yes, then i would say that people at private schools do take their schoolwork very seriously, but of course there are always a few students who dont, and slack off, but its their loss for their parents are the ones paying tens of thousands of dollars to give them the best education and they are wasting it! Private education in Australia is the best system, lets face it, the public schools do not have the resources, funding and facilities the private system has, but each to their own! Hope this helped :)

I have just posted my own question regarding the problems i'm having with a private school,so I consider it fate I was to read your question.I was approached by an unknown parent at the parent info.night to help in the class if I can, as to see 1st hand what goes on.So I did.I was HORRIFIED to see the children (yr.2 & yr.3) do as they pleased.I helped in reading and art and some students refused to read and the teacher didn't mind.At the end of the term when putting together a portfolio 1 child asked the teacher what the question said. The teacher told her to write the names of all the books you have read on this list and the child said "I didn't read any".The teacher told her to get the pile of books over on the shelf and copy the names onto the list. That happened to 5 children in that class and I sat through an awards assembly to applaud their outstanding work.My children left a catholic school to go private but it was a big mistake. Most children who stayed on at that school for high school education could not spell yet their reports were "OUTSTANDING".Be careful of private schools, like the principal said to me when I reported what I saw"we are a business before a school".After I informed the principal of their dodgy teaching and misleading parents my 8 year old daughter was the only child not given an award at an assembly even though she was an outstanding performer in all her work.We leave the school in 3 weeks and I intend to go to court to expose the school for their teaching practices and misleading parents.READ READ READ as much as you can,if you are that keen about your education then you're off to a great start.DON'T TRUST PRIVATE. SCHOOLS ! True friends take the good with the bad,my 3 children never made good friends with anyone there as they were classed as "Too friendly".I never thought they would have a problem, but they can't wait to go back to their local original school, they went through hell for 2 years.Just read as much as you can,do educational programs on the computer you enjoy & find a sport you're good at.Everyone is good at something with sport, you just haven't discovered it yet.GOOD LUCK TO YOU IN THE FUTURE.!
