How late is too late to transfer to a different high school?

Should I transfer to a different high school?

  • When I was going into high school, I had the option of going to West High School or Dansby High School. West is where all of my friends went and is the school district I've been going to since kindergarten. My mom teaches in the Dansby school district and therefore my sister and I can go to that school system without having to live in that town. West High school is smaller, has less AP classes, has a lot of budget problems, and is just NOT a very great school. Dansby is better in all of these categories. Next septemeber, I'll be getting my license and will be able to drive to school (junior year). Lately, I haven't felt as attached to my friends and kind of distant. It might be time for a change. I think that my sister and mom are both open to our switching. Any opinions? thank you sorry it's long!

  • Answer:

I would go for it. Dansby sounds like the clear winner here, as long as you don't mind the extra drive. I thought I would have a hard time making friends this year, as I have just started college, but I have found plenty of people that I enjoy hanging out with...maybe the same will be true for you. The only other advice I can give is don't rush into this decision, think about it for this year and try to talk to people that go to Dansby now.
