What are my chances of getting into Phillips Andover?

What Are my Chances of Getting into Boarding School?

  • I am a Caucasian 9th grade female applying for 10th grade and financial aid. I am enrolled in a very nice public school. These are my classes and grades: French II: A+ Physical Science Honors: A History/English Honors: A- Music Theory: A+ Wellness (health and gym): A Geometry Honors: B- My SSAT scores were: verbal: 680 (56%) math: 707 (54%) reading: 704 (78%) total: 2091 (64%) the average female scores were just below me: verbal: 668 math: 696 reading: 662 My interview went really well and my interviewer really liked me. I am a healthy person and love athletics, but I haven't found a sport I like yet. I have played the violin since the third grade and love it, although I don't play much anymore. I also took a French test and placed 8th in NH and VT combined. In seventh grade, I helped pass a bill for my state's state dog. I have a younger bother with ADD and Aspergers who I babysit while my family is working, on top of my social life and school work. I am applying to Andover and Exeter and St. Paul's. do you think I have a chance at these schools, specifically St. Paul's? Thank you!

Hi, yes wow... great marks and yes I hope you do get in - have you gone for all the interviews yet??? But if you can you should also really think of what you want to try and achieve by boarding - focus on what you want to achieve or gain ... perhaps its independence, growing ones confidence, improving your academic grades, getting involved in sports or extramural activities, building close and long term friendships... I found for the most I got all of these those (but these are tough work, lol, no kidding), but in the end it more a sense of great pride of what being here (I'm at school low in the rec room typing this now)... then you need to list theses down and approach your parents. The main thing I got ... well for me it was the above as well, but it became something quite different from what I expected... it's something very unique, something different, something very special in the end, but something that will change you forever. I had no idea how... it would!!! But it did!!! What I found I had lost.. in some freedom and stuff at home (mainly wasting my life away watching Hanna, MTV, always going out, just to to find it was nothing special AGAIN... and surfing the net lol)... BUT what I gained immeasurably more... in finding true friendships, becoming ... I cant even explain it... and well finding myself in many ways - you have no idea how it brings it out of one, but it does. If this is what you looking for put this into your own words ans ask ur parents to send you.... and make sure they know you think they good parents (hey flattery never hurt - hehe), and that you NEED them to give you this opportunity! However, I will not lie to you...it is always going to tough at first, getting used to the new routine, living away from home, the hard work... believe me you must contact me on :[email protected] and I will give u some hints AND what to expect...oh and how to sort this out ... (please only use :[email protected]). I would never go back to a normal day school! Let me know... chat later, C.
