How successful is the online school k12?

Hi i'm trying to get online schooling set up because my public school is, in as few words as possible, dreadful. i've seen commercials about an online school called k12. my neighbor said her aunt did it and now can't even get a job at mcdonalds. it kind of has me worried about it but i'm not sure what other online school i could try. if you have any personal experiende with k12 or know anyone that's done it please help me out. also if you know of any online schools i should try in indiana please let me know as well :) thank you!
