Does anyone have any great and easy science experiment ideas that are fun for 2nd-5th graders to watch?
-
We are doing a science club presentation for 2nd-5th graders and they do not have goggles so we cant let them do the experiment themselves. Now, we have to do the exp. for them and they can only watch, but we need something extremely entertaining and easy to do. thanks in advance!

Alright, here's a great one! It was one of my favorites growing up- it's like making cupcakes, with a twist! First, you take the ingredients-- 1 cup of butter 1 cup of flour 3 teaspoons of sugar 5 gallons of vinegar 8 pounds of baking soda And eat them all AS FAST AS YOU CAN (saving the vinegar for last). You'll feel funny for a few seconds, but then BAM! Cupcakes! You'll see what I mean when you try it.

1 get a roll of Mentos candy and put them all in a test tube. 2 get a 2 liter bottle of coke 3 have students make a 4 foot perimeter around the coke bottle, 4 drop the test tube of Mentos into the coke and it will spout up about 5 feet into the air. Extremely entertaining, cheap and soooooo easy.

For the second graders I would try the one where you fill up a 2 liter bottle of pop with water and take another one and tape them together at the lids. Spin the bottles while having the water go down and It will create a tornado inside the bottles.

you know the egg experiment.. where u have a peeled boiled egg that sits on the mouth of a glass bottle. then u take a paper, burn it throw it into the bottle, and place the egg back. the egg should slide down the neck because of the decrease in pressure.

Bill Nye the Science Guy!!!!!! LOL... try mixing colors in those tube things. Try putting red, yellow, and blue in every other container and have them mix some of each in the bottles in between the colors. It will make a rainbow.

You would have to have supervision, but when you add pure sodium to water it is almost an explosion. Then you could explain why it does that.

Yes! Take long chopsticks and stick marshmallows on them- then stick them in liquid nitrogen (wearing gloves) and then play the frozen marshmallow chopsticks on an xylophone! It is such a fun experiment!
