Selective Enrollment test and High Schools?

• I'm supposed to be taking the selective enrollment test. I've been studying, however I would like to know the possible concepts that will be asked? I also I am to fill out my application and I would like to apply to Lane Tech, Whitney Young, Northside prep, and Jones prep. I wanted to know which schools cut you off the list if you don't chose them as your first choice. Also, this year the scores are out of 900. Not 1000. So, I was wondering what are the lowest possible scores to get into these schools. I 'm pretty sure I'll have a good mark but I was just curious. Thank you.

  The test is made up of four portions: Math, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and language. For the math, basically just review of everything you've learned in previous years (decimals, fractions, some basic algebra), but there are going to be several geometry/ advanced algebra questions so I would study up on that too. Reading comprehension- just read a story, and answer questions. Language- use of figurative language ( idoms, metaphors, etc.) and proper grammar. Vocabulary- it will just ask you to define a word used in a sentence given, so I would just open a dictionary or vocabulary book and start studying. The admissions process has changed, so now only one school accepts you, whether that be your first choice or not. So if you put lane as your #1, you will get accepted to lane even if your score is good enough for northside. The lowest possible score for any high school really depends on how many people apply, what scores they get, etc. However, I would assume that the average admissions score is about the same as last year, so Lane- 809 Whitney- 865 Northside- 885 Jones- 823 Hope I helped :)
