Help preparing for the SHSAT?

High School/SHSAT Help!?!?

• Ok. Well, I am in 7th grade and today and yesterday, the 8th graders took the SHSAT (Specialized High School Admissions Test) in New York. I have a few quesions regarding that and High School. 1) How was the test in difficulty level? 2) To you, what was the hardest part? 3) Which School do you want to go to? 4) which study guides were most effective or similar to the test? 5) How do you think you did? 6) Do you have to bring your H.S application with you to the test? High School Questions 1) What is it like being a student a Specialized High School? 2) What is it like being a student at a regular H.S? 3) What is a school day like at Midwod, Brooklyn Tech, Stuyvesant, etc.? (NYC Schools) 4) How was your first day of H.S? 5) Are freshmans really picked on a lot? 6) How much homework do you get and how are your teachers? Thanks so much for the help in advance.

  hi!!! i took the shsat in 2007 so one year ago. 1) I thought the test was much easier than some of the practice tests i took. i'd rate it a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. 2) the verbal 3) stuy 4) although the barrons book had tests that were A LOT harder than the actual test, to me that was the best book i used and i used about 6 review books. 5) i got into stuy so id say i did pretty good. 6) yes u do 1) kind of exhausting but it pays off 2) HELL NO 3) at stuy- running around, cramming for tests, having fun, idk a mixture of fun and pain 4) exciting and probably the easiest day for the rest of the year 5) not at all 6) 4-6 hrs of hw per night but it may be more depending of if u get tests or not. the teachers may be mean or nice....all depends. good luck taking it next year=)
