How to get more motivated?

How can I get better grades and get motivated for school?

  • Im in 10th grade. All the way til 9th grade I was a principal's list student. As soon as i got into high school my grades dropped. Now I get D's and C's. I have gotten lazier with homework too. I lost motivation at the most critical time. Can someone that had this same experience tell me how i can get motivated, and actually start liking school, because I hate it now. And can someone help me get motivated to do my homework, and a homework schedule. Please Help. Thank you

    it's pretty easy. all u have 2 do is get into better habits. try putting aside a little time each day for studying, and when ur done with ur work in class, check it over and if ur teacher has the stuff u learned from previous classes, look that over. if u keep reading it and seeing it, it'll eventually gt pounded into ur head. if ur really busy one day, try 2 make up the time lost on another day. i suggest a 30-45 minute break when u get home from school, then do ur homework. also, if u have the time, extra credit may help. get on the good side of ur teachers. that will help. im not saying u have 2 be the teacher's pet, though. last year, i wasn't doing that good and i had a few b+'s, and maybe a few b's, but on my last report card, i got all a's and a+'s.

I had a pretty similar situation. I had a really bad freshman year of HS, and i thought I was a gonner. I realized that getting great grades is actually very easy, if you beleive in yourself. So... First: No one "likes" school. No one "enjoys" hauling textbooks home and completing endless assignments. It's just something that you've got to do, period. The better you do, more doors will be open for you. Getting motivated is easy. This is what you should do: Figure out what the HIGHEST GPA you can possibly have at the end of your junior year is. Then, find a college that you like that requires a GPA around that number. You can just work towards getting into that school. Doing well in school requires different methods from everyone. The biggest thing that I did was COPY DOWN EVERYTHING THREE TIMES. You will learn it so much better. Also, study for tests, and do every homework assignment. If you do those, the lowest grade you should get is like a B-. Bus beyond all things.. You have to ask YOURSELF what you are willing to do to perform as well in school as you would like. You have to have a goal of what your aiming for. Always stay on top of your studies, do all of your homework and study once in a while. Think in a couple more years say, in about 5 years, your going to be done with that and are probably going to be in a high profession. Sitting at your office, helping people with their problems, solving computer problems or doing what you like the best, and you get paid. This is what your exactly going to do if you continue to think that your going to make it through. Just take a deep breath and start from the basics. Don't try to memorize the study guides, but understand the concepts to it.
