How do I become a "Straight A" student?

How to become a straight A student and get an A on all my tests?

  • I do good on all my homework assignments, but I have a problem with tests. No matter how hard I try I can't seem to get anything higher than a C on most of my tests. It frustrates me. I really want to be a straight A student but I guess I don't have the right studying technique. I have heard that listening to classical music can help you study so I might try that. Also, would this work? take a recorder and record me saying all my notes then as I am listening to it write the notes down again? and also how do you study out of a text book I mean I see people all the time writing notes from the book and I seriously want to do that. Please help this is really important. This isn't like I am asking how to get a guy this could affect me later on in life so please, please, please help me

" No matter how hard I try I can't seem to get anything higher than a C on most of my tests." ^That's weird, if you study to the best of your abilities and re read the notes and class examples, there's no reason you can't get a B or better. I think the problem is that you are not studying smartly or efficiently, even if you study "a lot". Maybe your studying skills or habits needs some fixing? Go to a really quiet place and make sure there are no distractions - the library is the best place. It also depends on what kind of learner you are - if you learn better through listening, then go ahead and record yourself reading out your notes. If you are a visual learner, look at some pictures/graphs related to your homework. Lots of straight A students also stay behind after class to make sure they understand everything. If you don't get something, ask the teacher! Or, form a study group. Make friends with the smart kids or the kids who work just as hard as you. In terms of "studying out of the textbook", google Cornell Notes. It's a pretty efficient way of taking notes and lots of university students use this method. Also I feel like you are stressing yourself out too much and wanting to do too much in a small amount of time. Relax, tell yourself you will do amazing on the next test and try to follow some of the steps I gave. Hopefully it will help. Good Luck!!!

Well, it seems like you stress way to much, I usually take notes, use flashcards, and make sure i know the content of the test, such as math, i make sure i can do any problem, or History, i just ask a teacher any pointers on the test and study, put school before anything else, if you can manage to keep your sanity anyway.

Focus on the fundamentals. To get straight As you need to earn A grades in all of the courses. You will need to get almost all the points on every test. This will lead to straight A success and possibly a future at the prestigious Oxford University.

You need to start thinking like a test giver and start thinking what the IMPORTANT POINTS are. Like if you were giving a test from this material, what would you ask? Maybe ask your teachers what will be on the test. And study from there.
