Where can i take online high school classes?

• ok, so im going to be in 9th grade this year. i am in giep, which basically means i should be taking waay advanced classes. but im switching to a super tiny private school. and they dont have a giep program, which means i cant really advance to classes besides honors and such. so i wanted to take some courses online so i could still have great classes to put on college applications, etc. does anyone know where i could do this? i wanted to take maybe a few college courses. but i dont want to go to like a compelte online school, you know?

  I'm not sure if or where you can take college courses online. However, I know you can take Advanced Placement classes and you get a good score on the exam, most universities will recognize it and give you credit for it. I live in Florida and down here we're offered Florida Virtual School (FLVS) which is free to Florida students but other states can subscribe to it for a fee. We can take a number of online classes in addition to the classes we take at our traditional school. I know a lot of states have a similar program available for their students or they use www.k12.com to establish one in their state. It would behoove you to talk to your counselor and see if there is one in your state or if your state subscribes to another states program. I hope this helped! Have a great school year!
