Go drive around in the ghetto. Look at all the poor and uneducated people. Look at the crack whores. Look at the crappy houses. Do you want to end up like that?

There are many ways to do this but I can offer a few suggests that might give you some food for further thought: 1. List 10 jobs and visit them where you can only earn minimum wage and visualize yourself doing that job. And for this they need to be the worst you can find. The real gift of motivation will be if you can put yourself in a place where once in that job you have no way out. If the job and your mental picture is in anyway less than despair then forget it! But have no allusion about what jobs are available for uneducate, low-skilled people. They exist and countless people do them - but not because they wish to or because they could do something else - have no doubt about it. THIS IS THE REAL WORLD!! 2. Imagine that your parents are dying and by the time you graduate they will be unable to support you or the family and you will automatically be responsible for earning sufficient money to support the family. This is hard but there are again countless examples where is the stuff of real life!! 3. Pick a person who you admire (it does not matter if you know them or not) or go look for one. Research!! until you find a hero or role model that you can look up to and visualize yourself standing next to them and working along side of them or even in their place. No pop-stars or sports star or film stars. This person has to be someone who has attained their status or position as a result of or through education. Write to them if want to and ask them to emotionally sponsor you by asking them to reaching out and give you 5 minutes of their attention to motivate you by acknowledging your need "to be motivated." 4. Negotiate and save for a vacation of a life time. Visit Europe or travel to hottest disco island in the world where it is going to be fantastic and you can party for a week! This is only available if you graduate!! As you can see in these few examples they fall neatly into two categories: one is things you want and the other is things you need to do because you have no alternative. Treats or things you want can be real but the other require you to sustain a visual picture to motivate you or goal oriented yourself. When I was going to school I had the same problem and you can only achieve and fulfil your potential if you find, via constructed realities of the future, something that will pull you through so that your mind can force your body to do what it has to do in order to graduate. Obviously extra lessons, mentoring, tutor assignments and personal guidance, time schedules, gantt charts all help, but you have to prepare your mind to accept them and work with them. It will not create more intelligence than you have but it will give you the opportunity to marshall your own resource within to reach your potential. Any more than that is not needed. I would also choose a teacher that you like and talk to them about the "motivation" issue and ask them if you can work in their space/classroom on your work as often as you can. They will give you the emotional support that is as powerful as any of the above. Your response to someone you like and respect is probably the most powerful motivator of all. Best of luck. And always remember that everyone else is going through, been, or will go through the hell that you exist in at this moment. Have the courage to fight and take your future in your own hands. Own it, because it is your future and noone should take it away from you. Education is your passport to a world of infinite possibilities which is only dimished by lack of vision and courage to fulfil the potential inside yourself.

don't see your schoolwork as just work, enjoy it and soon you will get your calling. see your studies in different light and find new entertaining means to finish the work. you will get the motivation if you try your earnest.

Think hard about where your life is going to go if you do not get better grades. When i was young we did not have the opportunities you have today, but you need to work hard to get them, do you want a good job, one that you will enjoy getting up everyday to do, or will you be satisfied with a job that you hate because your not qualified to do anything else. just because you have to pay your bills? The Motivation you need lays in your hands...........Good Luck with it.

think of the bigger picture... the work you do now determines how far your education is going to take you which determines how good a job you get when you're older which determines what quality your life will be when you are older and working for a living. It starts right now.

hey huey i think what you need is some inspiration...do you have a crush in your school? or have you considered taking up sports? most of the time, our body is stressed out and needs some exercise to make us feel better so we get to work hard on school or anything for that matter...think about it....

Do you have a part-time job? maybe getting a job in like a supermarket or macdonalds would show you why exactly you have to do well in school. I never learned my lesson until after i left, i was in a dead end job for a couple of years then went back to college. I wish i hadn't had to do that to realise the value of learning.

Dont look for the answer in someone elses life. you have the answer there in front of you pal. life is all about choices and changes take a leap you might like it. I qualified as a electrical engineer and now do something completely different............. live it to the full you got 1 shot enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you could tell your parents about this and ask them to give you some sort of reward if you get your grades up. Do you get allowance? If you do maybe your parents could decrease it when you get low grades and then increase it when you get good grades. If you do any sport or extra activities drop them until you know your grades are getting better, then when your grades are good taking part in sport and stuff will be like a reward.
