What is an Issue paper?

What's a Social Issue from the past year that raises questions for future research...one for a research paper?

• I need to write a paper on a social issue that would raise questions for future research (and it has to be an issue suited for a research style paper - as this is a research design/ethics based paper). Basically have to take a newspaper article on the topic, create a research questions based on an issue that stems from that article, and write a research paper on it. Any opinions/input would be greatly appreciated! -Thanks in advance!

  The importance of IM, texting, tweeting and facebook, video 'phone apps etc. to gather people together for mass action eg London riots and the subsequent clearing up by volunteers, the ' Arab Spring', flashmobs etc. Instantaneous and uncensored communication that by going viral can reach literally thousands and cross borders and oceans. The change that this has and will continue to bring about for communities, cultures and the sociopolitical climate locally, nationally and globally. I'm sooo tired I can hardly think straight but I hope this makes sense and maybe is of help. Good luck!!
