What lakes and streams are around the Greenbelt/Lanham area?

Can anyone please Proofread this for me? And make any changes needed?

  • I have an assignment in my biology class about an area of freshwater of my choice, and I wrote out part of my draft, is anyone able to proofread it for me and make the changes and send it back via answers? Please!!!!!! :) I'm home schooled, so I can't go to a teacher and ask them to help me. "Type of Ecosystem: Even though more than 70% of the earth is water, although only 2.5% is considered to be fresh water. The majority of fresh water in this percentage is from the glaciers and ice caps, second to that is what is contained by clouds, soil and in the air itself. This leaves a small 3/10 of 1% left, which is from lakes, streams and rivers. In the area overviewed, the temperature on average at its highest is 22.6 degrees, while its lowest average is a mere 11.4 degrees. Each year there is an average of 944ml of rainfall, and an average of 120 days of rain each year. The freshwater site chosen has been noted to have multiple floods in the past, it’s most severe was in 2011 where extreme damage occurred to the surrounding area such as the tree’s, plants and wildlife. Attached are some photo’s showing occasions where flooding has occurred here. In this area there is an extreme variety of wildlife and plant life. Surrounding the lake there are reeds and what appeared to be Stinging Nettle and in the areas nearby there were a multitude of different trees and bushes, most of which seemed as if they were planted by council agencies? Even though it was difficult to see through the muddied waters, it appeared as though there were many fish of all varieties, as well as turtles and other small creatures. On the banks and surface of the water, even far off the banks there were ducks of all kinds of species such as Darters, Dusky Moorhens, Pacific Black Ducks, Little Black Cormorants and plenty of other species, which seemed to take great interest in human visits, making it seem as though people rarely visit this area."

  • Answer:

Send it in an e-mail to [email protected] subject "fresh water" and I will edit it. Maybe Tuesday, though, because it is now after 11pm in the Central Time zone.
