How can you write a good introduction for an essay in AP US History?

I recently got transferred into AP US History, and i have to write my first essay and it is due on wednesday. I have the body and the conclusion set up, i just need an introduction. the topic is: Discuss Republican attempts to implement their philosophy at the start of Jefferson's Presidency. How did the Louisiana Purchase impact the Jefferson presidency, the Republicans and Federalists, and the American society.
