Homework help: What is the Autumnal Equinox?

Why is it that when you ask a question for like homework help the only answers you get is DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK

  • I need help on literature and nobody is willing to help me I hate the subject and trying to understand it is kind of hard to do! I have like 80 questions that I don't know about of about 1305! I have no idea and trying to make sence of them is really hard not to mention the fact that they have the packet of questions has to be turned in on the 26th!!!! I need serious help but whenever I post a question all the answers I get is I don't know and Do your own homework! I really need help and I thought that I might just get the help I need here! Please if you think you can help me at all I'd really appritiate it!!!!

  • Answer:

I was an English major, and a theater fanatic, and I might be able to help. Try me.

It's because they have been burned in the past by people who post homework questions here, scoop up the answer, and then never thank anyone by picking a "best answer." That's how this system is supposed to work. Also, don't you think 80 questions are a lot to ask for help with? Perhaps if you narrowed it down to one or two, and did the rest of the work yourself, people would be inclined to help you. Good spelling and grammar ("appreciate," for example) go a long way in showing that you really need help and are not just goofing off.

Asking for help and asking for the answers are completely different.

Because that's exactly what you should be doing, or sitting down with your parents/teacher/someone else rather than asking on a message board.

Cause it called your homework if u just need help then ask for help. Don't ask for people to put it word for word for you.

Maybe if you said, I need help and explain, but say don't answer the question, just point me in the right direction, I am sure then people will help. We should not be doing your homework, but I am sure most of us are willing to help you learn so that you can do it.

Instead of asking for the answer, ask where can I find information on...

Huey from Ohio

A good site that covers lots of works by different authors, it includes, Themes, Character analysis, and explains every thing that you are ever going to need to answer literature questions. http://sparknotes.com/literature Type in the title of the book and navigate around until you find what you need. Good luck

Crazy

The help you need isn't necessarily the answer to specific questions. I assume you may benefit more from getting help on HOW to search for your answers. I wish more teachers would encourage group work. After all, the real world is about helping people achieve and learning in the process. Ask a smart kid at school (not the answers to the questions), but how he does it.
