Answer:
Get the old AP exams. They sell them directly from ETS or whoever runs the AP exams these days. I remember that they ended up recycling at least half the multiple guess questions because history is just history after all. The DBQ is pretty trivial if your history teacher did any sort of preparation because the time period is pretty specific. The 2 FRQs are usually pretty easy also since I think you get a choice. There's not much you can do for those except know your stuff by having kept up with the reading over the course of the year. If you need to cram, there are probably those history summary AP prep books that you can check out. History doesn't really change much, so any year is probably fine. Good luck. It's one of the easier AP exams.

isn't the class fun? notecards of important people, places, events seemed to help many of the people in my class, so did making outlines of the chapters and reviewing them. something that i found very helpful is that you can go to the college board website (sorry, i'm not sure what it is) and review old tests (your teacher may even have copies to share with you), they even give you essay questions with examples of answers scoring from 1-9, and tell you why they scored the way they did. for the essays, one thing my teacher told us was to use persia when working on your answer. p=political, e=economical, r=recreational (maybe, i'm not sure about that one), s=social, i=industrial, and a=arts (again, i'm not sure about it, but i'm pretty sure it's right). you write it in the margin, and then fill it out as it applies to your question, very helpful. the DBQ will give you lots of documents to look at, so practice finding relevant information in texts, artwork, etc. then the FRQ is just what you know, but you get to choose. my suggestion is that you need to know what you know and what you don't, then choose the questions that best fit your skill level. the first FRQ is through reconstruction, the second is anytime since then. when you're writing your essays, focus on a clear thesis, good support, and then remember that the conclusion isn't really very important, spend your time on the rest of the essay, then, if you don't finish the conclusions, it's no problem. remember to eat a healthy breakfast before the test, get plenty of sleep, don't cram stuff in in just a day, start seriously studying now, drink plenty of water (fruit juice is good, too, and a little caffine wouldn't hurt).

Best way to study for the AP Exam? Don't try to stay up late every night the week before the test cramming. It won't do you any good. AP Exams are in about a month, so that should give you a fair amount of time to review. You should definitely get a study book. They help a lot. When you have a study book, block out time over the next three weeks to review everything you've done this year. Then, with your extra 1-2 weeks, take the practice tests and study, but this way you won't feel panicked about the test and you will be able to do your best. And remember, eat breakfast and get a good nights sleep. It might sound corny but it really does help. Just do that and you'll get a 4 or a 5 with ease.

A lot of my friends take that class now (they're freshmen). I always see them studying by using that big book that goes over everything you learned in APUSH. Not the actual textbook, it's another one with study guides and practice tests inside. They're always highlighting the important stuff and taking the tests. Good luck!
