How can I finish my homework without getting distracted?

How can I manage all of my homework without getting distracted by TV, but without doing it straight through?

  • I'm a sophomore, and I have a ridiculous amount of homework every night. I sometimes can't finish it all, and am always too scared to tell my teachers that I've been unable to finish it, because I just feel too smothered that I need to take a break and watch TV. But, when that happens, I just keep watching. Can anyone give me some tips on how to do it with taking breaks in between, but without getting too distracted?? I just need help! Oh, and by the way, I get about three hours every night, and that's just for history homework.

  • Answer:

Me too! But lately I've been really focusing on setting limits for myself. So, when I give myself a break, I tell myself that I get 20 minutes and then I need to go back to homework. Also, I like to get all my busy-work out of the way. (You know, the little worksheets and stuff that only take a few minutes to do). I know how you feel, though, I'm really overwhelmed too.
