A Farewell to Arms thesis statement?

Is this a good thesis statement, or should I change something...?

  • "America's entry to the arms race of World War II was inevitable with the rise of Hitler, the brutal attack of Pearl Harbour, and the declaration of war on America by powerful Axis countries."

    well, we werent really in an arms race. an arms race is when you try to beef up your military and out-do an opponent, like we did w/ the soviets in the cold war. just change that part and you're golden.

Your base premise is slightly wanting. Read this first when talking about the Arms Race http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arms_race The war had started in Europe long before the US was attacked in Dec 1941. http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/timeline/ww2time.htm The Canadians had declared was against Germany, 10th Sept 1939. http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/worldwars/wwtwo/
