What is an "ethical consumer?

10 POINTS 4 BEST ANSWER! What is a consumer that lives on the forest floor and can a consumer be a decomposer?

  • What is a CONSUMER that lives on the FOREST FLOOR? Can a CONSUMER also be a DECOMPOSER? Say.. a bear. A bear is a consumer, it decomposes stuff in it's stomach right?.. Oh btw, is a mushroom a decomposer?

  • Answer:

An earthworm is a consumer that lives on the forest floor. Most would also classify it as a decomposer. The bear - no way. A decomposer is classified by what it eats, not how it digests. Yes - a mushroom is a decomposer because it breaks down dead things as its food.
