What are some good topics to write an argumentative paper on?

  • Answer:

Good argumentative essay starts with a carefully chosen and well-researched topic. The first thing to remember is to pick a topic that you can handle. This means that you need to limit your topic span to whatever page limit you have for your essay. As you know, the typical research paper or essay requires that the topic should be fully covered in the body of the essay. Keeping this in mind, you would probably want to pick something concrete or factual. Another requirement for the argumentative essay topics is the reader's interest. Your audience needs to be entertained by the topic choice as well as the overall presentation of the subject matter. Here are a some topics. Should the animals be used for scientific research? Is it humanly? Should the cigarettes smoking be banned as heroin consumption? Should drivers of automobiles be prohibited from using cellular phones? Should restrictions be placed on the use of mobile phones in public areas like restaurants and theaters? Shall we integrate from Marketing to E-Marketing? Should the death penalty be mandatory for people that kill other people? Should the "Right to Die" be Considered a Right?

Of course, the big one is abortion. So many people write papers on this topic, but I personally think it's been done too much. Other topics: - Lowering the legal drinking age, or raising it. - Lowering, or raising, the legal driving age. - Allowing religion in our schools. - Censorship. (There are many ways to do this one.) - Arguing for or against the U.S. military presence in Iraq. - Gay marriage. - Legilization of marijuana. - Alternatively, argue to make cigarettes or alcohol illegal. Find something that you feel passionately about. It can be almost anything. Good luck!

Try a topic that hits close to home. It should be either something you can relate to personally, or something you feel very strongly for/against. For example, there are a lot of issues dealing with public schools in today's world. Should we allow prayer in school? Should cell phones and iPods be banned? Should we eliminate standardized testing? As I said, choose a topic that you can passionately support or fight against. This is something you should already know a lot about from personal experience. I'm assuming you're in high school, so here are some other topics that have plenty of sources to find: Immigration Cyber Bullying China's One-Child Policy Pollution/Recycling Genetic Engineering Cloning Good luck!

you should write on the topic of "arguments" and why they are decided wrong or right when they are really just based on peoples views of life. What you see as right, he may see as wrong. What you see as wrong, he may see as right. Whos wrong or right here? no one, just two different points of views. You should write about that.

Spanking a child is a great argumentive essay topic. Whether you are for or against it, emotions run high on both sides of the fence. The old saying suggests that people in certain circumstances should avoid discussing religion and politics. As well, you are guaranteed to have allies and enemies on these subjects. Good luck to you.
