What's the first step to become a non-profit organization?

Whats the first step to take after a great business idea comes to you, name and all?

• I have a love to help people in general and I have a great idea for a non-profit organization but I don't know anything about business so far as if I need a trademark, servicemark, or get it copywritten. How do I do that anyway? How will I go by getting a sponsor because I know I need one. If you have helpful info. please help. Thanks

  Ideas are like weeds in a well watered flower patch. The FIRST step to take is to get out there and get involved in life. You say you don't know anything about business but you have a GREAT IDEA for one. How can that be? You speak of the business as being a Non-Profit, well businesses do not normally run too long on that fuel. You say you need a sponser, a trademark, a copyright and money. Hmmm! you ain't got no idea, you have a daydream. Anyone goes in with you on that daydream will see it turn into a nightmare. With ALL that you NEED to get started, i don't think it is other people that you want to help, rather it is yourself that you want to help out.
