How should I prepare for my job interview with AT&T?

  • I'm 18 years old and I just started college and really need a part time job. I'm a cell phone/gadget nerd, so I thought it would be cool to work for AT&T wireless. I applied and finally have an interview set up next Monday. I've only had 2 jobs in the past, but one of them was at Circuit City as a Sales Associate so I do have some experience in sales. My other job was for Scholastic working in a warehouse. What can I do to make sure I get this job?

    They are looking for 'tech savvy" and salesmanship. Sell yourself and know your product. it might be a good idea to go into a store and ask one of the associates to help you look around. This way, you can show off that you already know what you are selling. Good Luck

Keep in mind that they are looking to hire someone that is going to help them make money. So you're a techie/nerd...can you actually talk to people that aren't nerds? Do you have the people skills and the technical skills to explain an iphone to an 80 year old lady? Do you look people in the eye when you talk to them? Do you smile at them? The earlier idea was great to go to a competitor and have them show you around...but look at the salespeople, and not the products. They already have the job that you want, so they already did something right. See what they are doing, and figure out how you can do it better. Not cocky...but confidently better. Good luck!
