What is a good summer job for me?

What is a good job for a 13 year old girl?... Summer Job?

  • Ok so I need to earn some cash. I need a temporary job. I live in a small rural town, population 449, Many older folks live here. I can train dogs. I can play piano. I can babysit although not many kids to baby sit. I write good stories and stuff. I can lift stuff under 75 lbs. I know how to work with computers a bit. I also can play the clarinet. My dog is trained for tricks and stuff. Do you think people would come to a circus like performance with just my dog? I would mow lawns but my friends family does that as a business full time, so i dont want to be competion because that is the full income they live off of during most the year. We have a post office, a cafe, a bar, a bank, and several churches. I can not drive and the nearest city is 15 miles away and my dad works there. They have a bigger population but not by much. What can I do? Could I get an online job such as a google employee. my aunt does this like 10-15 hrs. a week. What do they do anyway?

At your age, jobs are very hard to come by becasue of state labor laws. You might want to talk to local shops like bakeries or ice cream shops. They may have a few hours on the weekends that they can hire you for. You might even ask your friend's family if they need any help over the summer that they could hire you for. They might have a few jobs lined up that they could use an extra hand! You could offer to babysit, dog-sit, dog walking, etc. Depending how proficient you are playing the clarinet, you might be able to give lessons to other younger kids that play it. Have your parents check your state's labor laws. They should list restrictions on what jobs you can do and how many hours you can work at a regualr business. Good luck!

Thirteen year olds do not need jobs. Adults need jobs. Let your folks pay your bills until you finish high school.

Try asking your neighbors if they need help washing windows, or maybe clean the house. If there older, they probably aren't able to do chores such as these. I used to clean houses, and make darn good money when I was your age. Also, ask if they need laundry washed and folded, etc.

Well..there is always the chance that the older people might like you to come and play music for them. Ask around it might not be a lot of money at a time but 5 bucks or whatever builds up if you don't just go off and spend it.

Maybe you could get a job at one of the churches playing the piano at services.

This is not a job but you can make money. Make sure you have your parents permission. This is free site on the internet that pays you to do surveys/offers. Its really easy to use and I bet if your parents helped you out you could make between 50-100 dollars a month. This is a legit site and there are payment proofs on this site. You can be 13 and up. Check out my blog http://www.squidoo.com/cashcrateinfo There is a guide about how to work on this site.
