• i live in santa fe new mexico and im 14. i dont really know any places that would hire someone my age. i want to start a dog walking business or anything that could help me to earn money. how would i start a dog walking business? pretty much the only advertisement i can have is posting a flier on the mailbox. i cant really go to other peoples houses. i always walk my dog many times a day and all my neighbors see me. what would be some good ways to advertise other than craigslist or newspaper? should i put little notes in peoples newspaper boxes or what should i do? how can i start a dog walking or pet sitting or anything business?

  Hi LilShaw, You could offer your services for "free" on a flier and give it to pet groomers to get exposure and donations, but ... people are real touchy about their (prize) pet and trusting a 14 year old might be hard. Try washing cars or mowing lawns and do a good job and be on time. Then learn marketing (the key to any business) by telling them you will give them a discount the next time if they refer you services to a friend or friends. As it grows, you can have your friends help you.
