What would be a good way to advertise my business without the Internet?

Answer:
1. Cold Calling - go around to companies that have the type of roofs that you specialize in and offer free quotes. 2. Flyer advertising - If your roofing applies to large numbers of buildings, pick an industrial park where the age of te buildings is likely to require many of them to get new roofs. Use your Post Office brochure distribution system to send out flyers to the postal/zip codes where these buildings are (see your post office for help on this) 3. Yellow Pages advertising 4. Get your satisfied customers to recommend your service to their friends.

I'm sure there are some ad agencies you could talk to about this question. Off-hand it depends on the market where your company exists. I live in Kansas City. So if you were here I would say: advertise in all the yellow pages. Radio (talk radio as well as FM). If there was anyway to have an ad blitz when a storm was coming, that would be helpful. Also, you'd want to increase ads during those seasons people are more likely to fix roofs. I suppose you could create fliers and have them put into the paper, but those are sometimes lost in the ton of stuff in the paper. Radio TV Newspaper Fliers (targetted fliers would be good - if you could place on doors of businesses/buildings with that type of roof). Hey... long term idea: Develop an address database of those buildings with this roof type. You could then mail ads to those locations, avoiding those with different roof types. Note: These are random ideas of a guy with no experience in your job or advertising. Just what I see as some common sense ideas.

Check out a local BNI Chapter. It works great for me! Go to the website for more information. You are welcome to contact me, but you will find everything you need to know there...and if you find a chapter in your area...all you have to do is visit and you'll experience what they can do for you.

Today I found a sticky ad on my front door. I was impressed at how simple, yet effective. It may have taken the guy who put it there, 5 minutes to walk up and down my street. I notice them on every front door on my block. For you its much easier, just put them on homes that have metal or flat roofs.
