How does the paypal system work on E-Bay?

How does shipping and money work on eBay?

  • I just got a bid on my eBay offer, i was a ******** and didn't even research before hand, i kinda figured it wouldn't sell, but now it is! So how does transfer and shipping work? I get that i have to go to UPS and do all the packaging stuff, yada yada yada. The question is, what do i do about the purchase? Do i invoice these people or what? And if so is the invoice official or is it just through a little insignificant message through eBay messaging system? When i ship it, how do i know their address to ship it to? Do i get it in an email or do i ship it to ebay and they ship it to the person? Money is my biggest concern! Do i get the money when the bid falls through or when they recieve the product? How does fairness keep a grip? Can i ship it and not get the money? Can they send the money and me not ship it? How do i control this? Is it an instant wire to my paypal account when the bid goes? THANK YOU SO MUCH IF YOU CAN HELP. First answer to answer all these questions helpfully is 10 points :)

  • Answer:

There's an option to send the winner an invoice, but the buyer can pay without one. Once the auction ends, you'll be able to see the buyer's mailing address. You send the item directly to the buyer, not to eBay. Never send anything until payment has cleared. The buyer pays after the auction ends, and then you send the item. The most common payment method is through PayPal, but there are other options available too.
