How to start a food business?

Im a MBA student after that i would like to start a sea food export business how do this business?

  • how much investments for this business and land and manpower. is this profitable business ha?

  • Answer:

Importing and Exporting require a license. You can pay someone with that license or get one yourself. It helps if you speak a foreign language. If you're an MBA student, you are smart enough to get it done, but it costs and you might want to just tack that on to another year of "self-education". Going to work in an import-export office would be good. I live in a very small town and gave that option up. All international shippers - like Fed-ex and UPS have people that can set it up for you - for a fee. I'd start there. See what the requirements are for live shipments or overnights. You need someone you can trust on both ends. If your agents take too much of a cut the business won't be profitable. Talk to sellers in your area. If the shipments take too long to clear customs you will lose product. Who is responsible for disposing of the spoiled product? Put alot of research into it before you get into international hot water! Good luck.
