How much does forever 21 shipping cost?

Should I charge for cost of shipping supplies?

• I just recently sold one of my larger paintings. I have shipped some of my smaller paintings before with flatrate boxes and the rate I charged covered everything nicely, the cost of the shipping + supplies. My friend ordered the painting and considering it was the first large painting that I have ever shipped I took extra precautions to make sure that it would NOT get damaged. He has not yet paid for the painting but I already gave him a deal by taking $15 off of the original $100 painting. I bought all the supplies and packaged it perfectly! Only problem is the supplies alone cost me $30. Shipping in itself is going to be at least another $25. So should I ask him to pay the full price of shipping and the supplies I used to pack it? Or should I only ask him to pay for the shipping & not the box, cardboard, bubble-wrap, etc. that I used to package the painting? I've heard of people shipping similar sized paintings for only around $15. How is this possible? I used a UPS and FedEx shipping calculator and the shipping will be no less than $20 that is for sure. Any tips or Advice? Do you usually charge for the cost of supplies? Thanks

  If you truly value your art you gotta make sure ur making money off your paintings Let him pay for the shipping See it like this You spent valuable time making a product You are selling your product, try to get the most profit out of it And lastly Paintings are a luxury, not a need If he can afford to spend money on a painting he likes, he is not gonna mind paying for the shipping charges :) Theres nothing more rewarding than profiting out of doing what you love the most :) Thats how you start a successful business
