I am starting my own Nanny Service?

Anyhow do I need to actually start a business and get legal paper that states that, I own my domain name and or etc? Is a business similar to having a service online, is starting a nanny service online, sort of like, serving business as. I'm on the verge of getting the online part started, so I need your input on if I need to actually start a profit organization, or is it okay if I start this service online. My business will consist of families seeking nannies for their children, noting more or less, accept families will have to pay to use my service.

  Your website should be copy written. http://www.copyright.gov/ (that's the website to help you with that). If you are charging money, you will have to report it to the irs. You can get more info about that at www.irs.gov. You can also decide if you want to be a sole proprietor (no real employees) or a corporation (if you have more than 3 employees) It's much more complicated to be a corp. you will need to get a lawyer to help you with that. (About $500). Don't forget you can deduct any expenses with the site on your taxes too, using form 1040, and following the instructions. Your town may want you to buy a business license. (they are cheap) Depending on the state that you live in, you may have to charge sales taxes. You can contact your State department of revenue for more information about that. Also, how about insurance? If one of your baby sitters harms or kills a child, the parents are going to want to sue YOU too, since you provided that person to them. ( I would sue you, so would anyone else.) That's about it. I wish you good luck. I checked the one website and it has babysitters for my small town.
