How to start your modeling career?

How can I make any easy start towards a modeling career?

• I live in Brisbane and I'm interested in modeling for.. fashion shows, catwalks, photographics etc.. So before I start heading towards a modeling career.. what do I need to know and how can I be sure I am making the right start cause I'm only 16 and I'm asian. There's many teenage models out there wanted in Brisbane but I don't know where to start or which to choose.. since some require money or fees etc - is that just a scam? So yeaa... what I do I need to know? eg. something bout modeling agencies, scams etc and which company should I go for?

See if any of them have offices in Brisbane In general, legitimate agencies will never charge you money out of pocket. They should only make money after booking you on a job and taking their commission. So if they require fees upfront they are usually not legitimate. If they make you pay to take classes, they are usually not legit. I would first look at the credits in local Brisbane magazines to see which agencies are credited. For a fashion shoot, they will often be on the last page of the shoot where they list the hair, makeup and model's name, followed by her agency. Or there will be credits on the last page of the magazine. If any local malls have fashion shows with models, call the mall events/marketing department and ask where they book models for their shows. That way you'll know which agencies are actually booking their models on jobs.
