Should I put my name on the business bank account?

My former business partner opened a separate bank account with the company name and bought personal items.?

• some months ago my former business partner opened a bank account with the company name and their name on and deposited a large sum of their own money. I didn't know about this until I saw the statements. According to the bank statements that I saw, there were some purchases made for the business, but there were several big ticket items that were personal. Today a statement came showing that this account had not been closed as it should have. Since it is in the company's name, what does this mean for me tax wise? Can I send a cease and desist letter to force this account closed?
