Starting baking business.

Starting Baking business, Legal Requirements?

  • I am wanting to open a small business on saturdays to sell cakes, breads and bakes in my local village. I have asked a question on here and done some research and it seems that my kitchen may need to be health and safety checked. If I was to do all the baking at the village hall kitchen would that be allowed? Or are Village halls not safety checked? Thanks (UK Laws)

  • Answer:

Yes if Village halls have a kitchen then they are checked regularly by the Environmental Health. However: the hall committee could have problems with you using it due to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene regs and Fire regulations. Doubt very much if it would be allowed for personal use. You will be using their premises for your own gain not theirs. UK
