How do you successfully sell on Etsy? How to advertise Etsy shop?

  • I recently joined the Etsy community as a seller (I've been buying on there for over a year) and am wondering how to make my shop more successful. I sell headbands, tutus and home decor (http://www.etsy.com/shop/peaceoutaly). I am wondering how I can further advertise my shop - I'm already using the promotion options on the site itself and an offline Twitter source. Thanks

    Facebook, twitter, the FORUMS on etsy (etsy sellers are often etsy buyers, and they post forum threads advertising each others items). Try flickr to find groups that have items similar to what you sell and add you photos to them, with the tag 'etsy'. You can't actually try to SELL on etsy, but you can add the tag to your items so people can track them and maybe find you on etsy. Find people that do BLOGS about your types of items and email them to see if they will feature you. Go to Yahoo Groups and see if you can find groups with similar interests and join a group and post your shop links.
