How do open up a daycare center?

• I am a stay at home mom and I babysit from my home. I abysit 4-6 kids a day. But I would like to actually open up a daycare center. But I have no idea how in the world to get started? I don't know anything how where to go or look about this? How do I get a business lisense? Who do I contact to get the regulations on the requirements on the building? I know that you have to have certain amount of square feet per child? How do I go about getting loans for this? do they offer grants or help to get started on a daycare? I just need to know how to get started and who to contact..do I have to get certified to own a daycare? Thank you for any answers would be appreciated...thanks!

  My wife opened one up in Jan. of '07. She had already been certified since she had taught at the Head Start Program for eighteen years. But, you need to contact Bright From the Start. Just Google their name. That is the mother agency that will answer ALL your questions. Good Luck! I just hope your daycare won't be in my neck of the woods since our area has become saturated with daycares.
