Opening a childrens nursery - whats the outgoings?

• hi im thinking of opening a nursery with my husband and i think it would be a good idea, but every nursery iv looked at is losing money or making very little both of us are almost finished studying to become teachers so we do have the right qualifications, we found a good place and im pretty confident i could fill it with about 30 - 50 kids in the first few months (at £140 per child makes it on average £290,000 pa income). we worked it out we would need about 10 staff @ £16,000 pa = £160,000 rent and rates is about £10,000 i don't know how much insurance is but it cant be that much can anyone tell me what is the main out goings a nursery has? has anyone on here ran a nursery or do they own one and could help, thanks

Relating to facility inspections, well in advance of selecting a site, you must look up the requirements to make sure you select an appropriate site that doesn't require too much overhaul. For example there are specific floor tiles or the height of electrical outlets in some instances. So research your local county ordinances for licensed facilities providing child care.
