  • Answer:

    1. list and sell the item online. as the auction is being made, weigh the item and add 1 lb for box and peanuts. as you do have to put in a weight at time of auction. 2. get free boxes from companies, from dumpster diving, or get free ones from the post office (web site). 3. find companies who through away peanuts or have a paper shredder and all of your mail, coupon ad's, etc, shred and use that for box stuffing. Goal is to use free boxes, free stuffing as these items can cost you. 4. once item sells, wrap it, pack it. since the item sold on ebay it will come as payment from paypal or a money order/check. If by paypal you can just hit the print shipping label button (as long as you have a printer and some stickers, the 2 stickers per sheet work the best). Once label is printed place it on the box. If no label, you can just use Microsoft Word to print out return address in the corner and shipping address in the center. Then print on the stickers. This beats hand writing each label w/ a marker on the box. 5. now that it has a shipping label from online, you can either schedule the post office to pick up the box(s) from your door. Or just drop them off at the post office. As shipping has already been paid by your paypal account when you printed the shipping label. 6. if you hand wrote, hand typed the address and didn't use the paypal label printing option. Then you will have to walk each package into the post office and pay for it at the counter. Parcel post is the cheapest unless its under 14oz. Then use first class mail. If the items are small, and can fit into a bubble envelope. Then use this method as it saves you much in shipping. ($1 for bubble envelope + $1.50 avg shipping yet charge $5.95 shipping = profit of $3.45 per item shipped) 7. if the item(s) are breakable, fragile, etc. On the auction click the option to have shipping insurance by choice or must have. This way the customer can purchase shipping insurance (you will have to click the button when printing the label or tell clerk at post office with hand written label) to ensure their purchase arrives safely. 8. Unless you sit for hours and just do shipping items in like an assembly line process. It can be very tiresome and boring to do. Oh and don't forget to get a decent tape gun and rolls of tape (Office Depot, Sam's club, etc). Brown tape is best over clear as clear doesn't like to stick to cardboard boxes much.
