How to Sell stuff on eBAY using Paypal?

Isit a Good idea to sell stuff on ebay as a business ?

  • I do know that ebay charges you for what you sell and stuff like that but i have also noticed that delivery companys charge less when using ebay, so i was wondering how much your over all costs would go up due to the charges and so on, and whether any one has had any good/bad experiences with selling on ebay Thanks in advance Jezza

Depending where you are and what you're selling, local classified ads might be suitable, craigslist, and others. Ebay can be expensive but they have lots of users, you could use your website/blog name as you're user name to drive traffic to it. You will need to get postal rates/delivery costs before you list an item for sale. Your own website might be good if you have a good inventory.

It's a great idea due to the amount of users it has, if your selling something that is pretty popular on ebay and setup an ebay shop I reckon you could clear your stock on the stuff due to the amount of users it has. It's also great for startup businesses because it helps get the word out there, along with feedback which count as reviews and reviews count as reputation. So if your thinking of doing it then go for it, I doubt you'd look back. and remember you can always run a e-commerce site selling the stuff too!

Don't get caught out by the legalities. As a trader you have to deal with things like returns, both of faulty goods and under distance selling regs. The txman will catch on too and want you to register as a trader. If you bring stuff in from outside the EU you have to have all the documentation for it. see http://www.everythingregulation.org.uk for general business advice

Try it and see - if it doesn't work for you, just stop doing it. Best bet is to start on a day when listing is free (seems to happen about once a month - see ebay announcements for info on when the next one will be. It's usually announced a day or two before, so you need to check regularly). That way, if you don't sell anything, you don't pay anything.

Just a heads up for you if you are wanting to save money on ebay seller fees check out spendingandearning.com ... you get 36% of your ebay seller fees back. Not bad. I've got my own ebay business. Basically I just do yard sales and look for media. Hope that helps with your ebay business!
