How to start my own Travel Agency?

I live in Australia and want to own my own travel agency (from home) but if it was successful I would expand into offices in shopping centers and such... Wondering if anyone knew how to get started, should I set up a website, how should I promote, what to do to be successful, what countries demand travel agents the most (Europe, America ect) and anything else that might be helpful! Thank You

I think the cheapest way to start testing the waters would be to setup a website. Make yourself available, you should be able to respond to emails, phone calls, text messages and perhaps have a live chat right on your webpage. Even though websites are accessible world wide - focus on getting business in your local area first. People like doing business with their neighbors. Submit your business information to Yahoo directories and Google places. The locals will then be able to find you. When you have a solid amount of local business you can try to expand.
