Do buyers on Paypal ever win appeal?

Can I win this item not received ebay case?

  • I sent an international buyer on ebay a package, 44 days have passed and he doesnt mention it not showing up until 1 day before the expiration period that he can request a full refund for an item not received case on eBay. That in and of itself is throwing up red flags that he's attempting to scam me. Anyway I sent it priority mail international and have the Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note showing the day I sent it, the address of the person it was going to, a tracking number and all that good information, and I submitted that as proof I sent it. Unfortunately when I put in the number on the form nothing comes up on USPS.com. I'm convinced this guy is attempting to scam me because why wait till the day the expiration expires to try to tell me your package hasnt arrived? Is the information I have good enough to win and not have to pay this guy a refund? If it helps I also stated on my auction that I dont accept international buyers but he bought it anyway.

  • Answer:

You should have reminded him in the first place that you do not ship international and refunded his payment (if he paid right away), and not sent the item to him. Then you could have made a second chance offer to the next highest bidder. That guy would not be able to blame you then, because you have clearly stated in your listing that you dont accept international buyers. If he complains, eBay would side with you because of the condition you mentioned. You could ask help from eBay Customer Support about this. I don't know much about that, but what I can share from my own experience before was, when I did not receive an item I bought, I did not complain to the seller until there were just a few days left for me to do so, simply because I waited and waited for the item to arrive, and I didn't know that there was a time limit for an eBayer to be able to complain.

No. If you used a flat rate envelope or small flat rate box, the tracking number won't show delivery. You need online proof of delivery to win the claim. It sounds like the buyer was giving you the benefit of the doubt by waiting as long as possible before filing the claim. Scammers usually try to get their money back as soon as possible.

There is only USPS tracking available overseas if you ship Priority Insured and you cannot do that to every country. You wont win. Buyers always win with overseas sales unless you have some proof that item was shipped.
